EECP Therapy Serving All of Utah
Enhanced external counterpulsation (EECP) is offered at very few clinics in Utah, and we are not aware of a dedicated EECP clinic in Utah County or southern Utah. Thrive EECP treats patients from across the state at one location: 1111 E. Draper Parkway, Suite 118, Draper, UT 84020.
Draper sits near the Salt Lake and Utah County line, right off I-15, which puts the clinic within about 30 minutes of much of the Wasatch Front (approximate). Draper Town Center, the last stop on the TRAX Blue Line, is about a five-minute walk away, and FrontRunner's Draper station connects by UTA Route 126 or UTA On Demand South Valley.
What EECP is
EECP is a noninvasive outpatient therapy. Inflatable cuffs on your calves, thighs and buttocks are timed to your EKG. They inflate as your heart relaxes, sending more blood back to the heart, and deflate just before it beats, reducing its workload. The FDA has cleared EECP for chronic stable angina and certain heart failure patients, and Medicare has covered it for qualifying angina patients. It is not a cure, and results vary.
Who considers EECP
People often ask about EECP when chest pain, fatigue or shortness of breath continue despite stents, bypass surgery or medication, or when they have been told another procedure is not a good option. EECP is meant to work alongside your cardiologist's care, never in place of it. Thrive EECP is an independent clinic and is not affiliated with any hospital.
Our team includes CEO LeAnn Wheeler, whose own experience with heart disease led her to EECP, Chief Operations Officer Lenore Taylor, and Dr. Alexander Pingree, DO.

Each page below covers verified routes, approximate drive times, transit options and the hospitals residents commonly use. Treatment always takes place at our Draper clinic.
The standard course
Research established 35 one-hour sessions, typically five days a week for about seven weeks, as the standard course. Travel distance therefore matters a great deal. Patients close to Draper usually drive or take TRAX. Patients farther away, such as from Ogden or St. George, often plan around FrontRunner, carpools or a temporary stay. We work with each client on a schedule that fits their needs, and if you miss a day, we reschedule.
Safety
EECP is not right for everyone. People with certain irregular heart rhythms, significant aortic valve leakage, a recent blood clot, uncontrolled high blood pressure, severe peripheral artery disease, or who are pregnant may not be candidates. We screen every client first.
